Plaza of the Americas



Dallas is the third largest city of the state of Texas and the ninth largest of USA. It houses few very important cotton and oil mills which has histrorical relevance as well. It was founded in 1841 and finally incorporated as a city in 1865. Being the part of one of the largest inland metropolitan areas Dallas lacks any navigational facilities. But this fact has not blocked Dallas's progress as one of the major economic hubs of the country,. Presently Dallas has gained global recognition for its contributions in the fields of Petroleum technology, telecommunications, banking, computer technology and transportations. Dallas is famous for the numerous tourist destinations within the city which attracts many visitors throughout the year, specially during the spring and autumn months.

Among the artificial spectacles that Dallas houses the Plaza of the Americas is one of the most well known structure. Considered to be the 15th tallest city of the world Dallas houses several architectural gems. The Plaza of the Americas is one such piece of architectural brilliance which attracts hordes of visitors every year. The Plaza of the Americas houses an upmarket shopping center meant for the affluent section of the population pf Dallas. There are two mirrored offices located at the north and south ends of the complex. Each of these buildings have 25 stories. The West end of the block has a famous world class hotel named the Le Meridian Hotel. All the shops, offices, hotels faces a huge atrium and is interconnected through it. The atrium houses an ice skating rink and a variety of retail and gift shops. This atrium is the focal point of the Plaza of the Americas. This atrium is an open space with three glass elevators, glass roof panels and many windows.

The Plaza of the Americas is located at 700 North Pearl Street, downtown Dallas. Its strategic location also adds to its attraction among tourists and visitors. There is no fixed operating hours for the Plaza, it varies according to the time of business.
