One of the airports of the state of Texas that is used for general aviation is the Addison Airport. The airport is located in the town of Addison, which is a city in Dallas County of the state of Texas, United States. The city of Dallas is nine miles (14 km) away from Addison Airport. The central business district of the city of Dallas is also not far away from the airport. Dallas city is a historical city of United States that was founded in the year 1856. Since then the city has earned reputation for being the center of oil and cotton industries. The city of Dallas is well connected to other parts of United States with the help of two main airports as well as numerous railroad lines.

Addison Airport has earned reputation as the busiest airport in terms of general aviation in the state of Texas. The airport is also recognized as the fifth busiest airport in terms of general aviation in United States. The airport has only one runway. For this reason Addison Airport has also earned the reputation for being the busiest airport in terms of single runway. Addison Airport came into existence in the year 1957 when a group of flying enthusiasts under the leadership of Henry Stuart attempted to build the airport. The airport took three years to be completed. The town of Addison purchased the airport from Stuart’s group in the year 1986.

Addison Airport provides all the modern services to its passengers. The principal services and features of the airport include round the clock service of fixed base operators that includes Million Air and Mercury Air Services, 7,200 foot runway that accommodates larger aircraft, 24-hours customs agent, FAA air traffic control tower, round the clock security, 750 based aircraft, etc. Finally the airport does not allow touch-and-go training operations.
